team training

Wednesday evening: For some reason I was possessed to come and train with Richard
He took me for a nice gentle run, along the river, across some playing fields, through the town and finishing with a hill, a steep hill!
I hurt but need to do it more often and further! (about 4km)

Tom

Wednesday Evening:  Got chased by a steam train as Tom made some valiant efforts running up hills!  This was our first physical training session that did not involve either a starter, main course or dessert as the main exercise!

I reckon if I can convince Tom to run with me once a week his fitness will improve and although he can't keep-up with the Gazelle like springing that I can do for nearly minutes at a time, I at least know he won't die from the pains in his chest!

Remko!!  We need you to play the hunter with your air-rifle!!  Get yourself a Land Rover and chase me and Tom across the moors, we need the incentive to improve our times!!

Seriously though, we have now trained and we are only a little dead.

200 days to go

It's now 200 days until the start of DW2010 for the 4 day event.

We have 201 days until we start our DW

Anyone who hasn't done it before doesn't realise that this is going to be the quickest 200 days ever!

I've joined a gym
I said it would be radical or something like that!
so far I've actually done a session
the target is 4-5 sessions per week!

Hello! My name is Rich, and I am the other half of Team GTC!

Hello, I am Rich and I am the other half of Team GT Condor!

I am knackered as I have been rugby training tonight, and got clocked one in the mouth for my efforts.  Also I have only just learned what a racing K2 is, and what it means is falling in and getting wet.

Well done Tom!  You ran somewhere, and you didn't even have Remko following you with his Rifle!

DW2010 will be a massive challenge for me, and I hope that being pretty fit already I am not going to find it too hard to adjust to sitting on my arse and using my arms to move me along rather than leg power.

I have got a day off each week organised through work, thanks Katie! (my manager) and you should see me and Tom on the water at the quay in Exeter very soon doing some wet training!  But please don't throw stuff from the bridges unless its Jelly Babies or Guinness!

Cheers for now,

Rich Potter

PS  I get to steer the boat!!  That means I am in charge of the boat and Tom should call me Captain!

Training - run

Tonight I stopped looking at my new running shoes, put them on and went for my first run for quite a while.

10m 40s

It's not a PB but it's a start, I'll see how much my knee hurts tomorrow!

The new running shoes feel they were well advised too.

Just thought that I'd point out that 50% of teamGT Condor are Mac users and 60% of the computers used for team GTC are Macs.
