Today the teamGT transports logistics manager, Mark, and I went to look at some possible support vehicles in Leicestershire.

Here's a short video, the engines are the soundtrack orchestra!
It is wide screen but it's not HD- yet!

(Click on the DB6 for the gallery)

Aston Martin DB6

The Aston Martin was very nice but was the slowest of the 4 we tested but it did have a good carrying capacity for the food and extra gear.

E-type Jaguar

This was faster, is a family hatchback and was more suitable as part of the teams support vehicle. Apparently Jaguar don't do an E-type diesel estate though!

D-type Jaguar

Here Mark tests out the only open top we looked at. This was the fastest. Mark got 140 mph out of it so it may be able to keep up with the teamGT Condor.
The only real problem is that Thule don't do a roof rack for it. However, using the roll bar and the tail fin we could bolt on a V-bar.

Austin Healey 3000

This was our favourite of the 4 we tried. It's very fast, sounds fantastic, is a four seater (apart from the roll cage) and was definitely the best drive.
The boot makes it a very practical support car and may be able to keep up with the boat

Some Italia tractor factory made car
It's not up to the quality that teamGT demands, there isn't a diesel estate option and they got a bit upset when we tried to put a set of Thule bars on it!
